2nd Shift Maintenance Technician – Entry Level
Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
We are seeking a reliable and dependable Entry-Level 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support equipment uptime, facility maintenance, and production operations. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, and a strong willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment.
Key Skills
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning industrial maintenance practices.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including safe awareness of wiring, motors, sensors, and controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs under guidance.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work 2nd shift as scheduled.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with production, maintenance, and supervisory teams.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance checklists.
• Comfort using basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Organizational skills a must.
Responsibilities
• Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Respond to equipment issues in a timely manner to help minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery, tools, and work areas for safety or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, tools, and workspaces.
• Communicate equipment problems, completed work, and needed follow-up to supervisors or senior maintenance staff.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance documentation requirements.
Requirements
• Entry-level candidates are welcome; previous maintenance, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or hands-on technical experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and walking throughout the shift.
• Must be willing to learn maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Must be reliable, dependable, and able to report to work on time for scheduled 2nd shift hours.
• Basic mechanical aptitude required.
• Basic electrical knowledge preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.
